Bagel Twists

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 cup plain yogurt

DIRECTIONS

  • Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Next add yogurt until combined and form into a ball.

  • Add optional mix-ins (I added a sprinkle of cinnamon and raisins to 1/2 of the mixture

  • Cover the dough in a bowl with plastic wrap and let sit for 30 minutes

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees

  • Crack an egg into a bowl and whisk for egg wash you will use later

  • Generously flour your work space and add your dough on top of the flour. Add more flour until the dough isn’t so sticky and is easier to work with. Work the flour in and then portion the dough into 8 pieces

  • Roll out each portioned dough piece and make a twist shape

  • Brush on egg wash

  • Cook for 18-20 minutes until golden brown

  • Let cool and top with favorite toppings (cream cheese, peanut butter, jelly, etc.)
